Fremont Brewing is an independent, family-owned brewery from Seattle, Washington, founded in 2009 by Matt Lincecum and Sara Nelson. Its production uses local ingredients whenever possible, with special attention to hops and grain from Washington State.
One of its most recognised areas is its barrel-ageing programme, started more than a decade ago and developed around Imperial Stout and other beers for ageing. Fremont works with a broad collection of whiskey and bourbon barrels, selecting, ageing and blending different batches before each release. References such as B-Bomb, B-BADS and The Rusty Nail come out of this programme.
The brewery also maintains IPA series, seasonal beers, collaborations and small experimental batches within Black Heron Project, focused on local grain, hops and fruit.
