Engorile is a brewing project founded by Xavier Pereira in Barcelona in early 2019. In its first years it operated as a nomadic brewery, developing its own recipes and brewing them at other producers' facilities. The name comes from skate culture: according to Pereira, his group used “engorile” for something that lifts your spirits, motivates you or generates enthusiasm.
From its earliest beers, Engorile has maintained a clear hop focus. APA BCN, an American Pale Ale, was its first recipe, followed by J.Hops, a New England IPA originally brewed with Mosaic and Calypso. Over time, the range has expanded into Double and Triple IPA, sours, stouts and other styles. The brewery is now based in Sant Miquel de Balenyà, Barcelona.
