Nelson Sauvin hop owes its name to the Sauvignon Blanc grape, due to its distinctive aromatic and flavour characteristics that recall this type of wine. This hop therefore has a vinous and fruity character.
It was developed by New Zealand Hops Limited and released commercially in 2000.
