The BRU-1® is a new-generation American hop developed by Brulotte Farms in Yakima Valley. Its distinctive signature is an intense aroma of fresh pineapple, accompanied by nuances of tropical fruit, ripe pear and a subtle herbal touch.
On the palate, BRU-1 offers a clean, juicy and refreshing profile, with a soft bitterness that makes it perfect for styles such as New England IPA, Double IPA, Pale Ale and even experimental beers with a fruity profile. Its high essential oil content (1.4 - 2.1 ml/100g) and alpha acids between 13 and 15% allow great aromatic complexity to be extracted both in dry hopping and in whirlpool.
It is frequently combined with hops such as Citra, Mosaic or El Dorado to enhance juiciness and round out the aromatic bouquet, but it can also shine on its own.
