Hallertau Mittelfrüh hop is renowned for its subtle and elegant aromatic profile, which includes predominant floral and herbaceous notes, accompanied by touches of soft spice and delicate fruits. This profile is the product of its terpene composition, including compounds such as farnesene and humulene, known for imparting earthy and floral aromas.
Cultivated in the Hallertau region of Germany, it is one of the oldest and most respected hops in beer brewing, especially for Lager and Pilsner styles. Its low alpha acid content, ranging between 3% and 5.5%, and total oil content in the range of 0.7 to 1.3 ml/100g, make Hallertau Mittelfrüh a preferred choice for providing smooth bitterness and distinctive aroma without overpowering other flavours in the beer.
