Elani hop is characterized by an aromatic profile dominated by tropical fruit notes such as pineapple, mango and passion fruit, accompanied by citrus nuances that evoke grapefruit and lime. Stone fruit notes, such as peach, and light floral touches can also be perceived.
Developed by Hopsteiner in the United States, Elani is part of a new generation of hops aimed at offering more complex and defined aromatic profiles. Its versatility makes it an interesting option both for beers with a strong aromatic presence and for recipes that require careful balance between bitterness and aroma.
From a technical point of view, Elani has a medium-high alpha acid content, between 12% and 14%, allowing its use both for bitterness and for adding aroma. It is especially valued for its high concentration of essential oils, with predominance of myrcene and humulene, responsible for its persistent and high-quality aromatic profile.
