Axe X is the amplified evolution of Axe, with a dry-hop increased by 200% and a recipe adjusted to enhance softness and expressiveness. The addition of 20% oats in the grist brings a silkier texture and greater character, while the significant reduction in bitterness allows the hop profile to shine more clearly. The result is a more aromatic, modern and balanced beer that reinterprets the original concept with far greater intensity and a more accessible sip.
Water, barley, oats, wheat, yeast and hops.

About the brewery
Buxton View more beers
Buxton Brewery, established in 2009 in the austere and picturesque landscape of the Peak District in Derbyshire, England, is considered one of the undisputed cornerstones of the modern British craft beer renaissance, executing a range of styles that spans from the sharpest and driest IPAs to some of the most decadent and complex Imperial Stouts in the European market.
Among its most legendary contributions to the brewing canon is Axe Edge, an IPA that practically redefined hop use in the United Kingdom, and its historic collaborative relationship with Swedish brewery Omnipollo. From this union came milestones such as the Original Ice Cream series, which pioneered the popularization of "Pastry Sours", and the iconic Yellow Belly, an Imperial Stout created as a political statement against racism.
The brewery was founded by Geoff Quinn, driven by frustration at the lack of hoppy and powerful beers in his region. For the technical connoisseur or geek, Buxton's true value lies in its mastery of "flavour engineering" and its barrel programme. A fascinating technical example was its ability to replicate the exact organoleptic profile of peanut butter and biscuits in its collaborative Stouts without using real peanuts, manipulating malts and lactose to avoid allergens, a notable chemical challenge.
