The term \"ranke\" in Dutch means \"vine\" or \"climbing stem\", and is used metaphorically to refer to hop plants, which climb and grow winding around supports, highlighting in the name \"De Ranke\" the importance of this ingredient in its ales. Since then, they have created new beers such as Pere Noel, XX Bitter - the bitterest beer in Belgium -, Kriek De Ranke, Cuvee De Ranke and Noir De Dottignies.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDe Ranke's philosophy of using only high-quality whole-flower hops, bottle refermentation and avoiding artificial additives has solidified its reputation as a brewery that produces some of Belgium's most respected and characteristically complex ales.
